“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is public art with a purpose. Conceived by environmentalist Wendy Abrams who wanted to raise awareness of simple solutions to global warming, the project launched in Chicago in June 2007 with 130 globes, each depicting a solution to global warming. The exhibit received an enormous response from the public and media. In 2008, Cool Globes was on display in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Botanic Garden, in San Francisco at Crissy Field and in San Diego in Balboa Park, through the generous support of Toyota.
