III. BURBANK GREEN SPOTLIGHT AWARD PRESENTATION:
Mr. Smith introduced the recipients of the Burbank Green
Spotlight Award, Erick and Jeena Schoenke, and gave a brief PowerPoint
presentation of their sustainable garden located on North Sparks Street. The
unique and contemporary landscape consists of drought tolerant native plants and
a drip irrigation system. The garden requires minimal maintenance and has
reduced the Schoenke’s water bill by 20-25%. The Commission congratulated Erick
and Jeena Schoenke, and Mr. de Wolff presented them with the Green Spotlight
Award.
